Senior Counsel

Senior Counsel in an international manufacturer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsel to join our legal team. The successful candidate will support daily legal matters, with a focus on international trade and sourcing, and manage several legal entities within the China region. This role will lead a team of counsel and report directly to the global legal department.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal support and advice on a wide range of issues related to international trade, sourcing, and commercial transactions.
  • Manage and oversee legal matters for multiple legal entities within the China region.
  • Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, ensuring high standards of legal service and compliance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings and manage relationships with external legal counsel.
  • Report to the global legal department and provide regular updates on legal matters and risks.
Qualifications:
  • At least LL.B or equivalent legal degree from a recognized institution.
  • Admission to practice law in China.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of legal experience, preferably in the automotive industry or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade laws, sourcing, and commercial transactions.
  • Proven experience in managing legal entities and leading a team of legal professionals.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English is required.
